Is Your Immune System Prepared For The Corona Virus?

Viruses are real and they definitely can make people sick... but if you have a strong immune system you can protect yourself and probably won't get sick.

Don't be so quick to blame the outside world and panic! Panic breeds FEAR and fear and stress lower your immune function. Instead... Fix your gut... 80% of your immune system lives in your gut.

Focus on what you can do for you...

Give your body what it needs to thrive!

Here are 8 tips to boost your immune system:

1. Move your body; exercise can boost your immune system

2. Get outside; sunlight helps your body produce Vit A

3. Make sure you are getting enough Vitamin A, Vit D, and zinc; all of these strengthen the immune cells and the immune system

4. Drink enough water; being well hydrated helps your cells function normally but helps to pass unwanted waste (toxins) out of the body

5. Eat whole food; a diet full of fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats

6. Avoid Sugar; too much sugar can disrupt immune function 

7. Get 8 hours of sleep, it is proven that sleep can strengthen your immune system

8. Decrease your stress levels, chronic stress can wear down your immune function and, make you more vulnerable  to different illnesses

This recipe can give you a bang for you buck 👍
You get fiber, Vitamin A, and zinc. Be sure to follow the recipe as is because your body needs the fat in order to digest the vitamin A ( as it's a fat-soluble vitamin)
This colorful soup is packed with good-for-you ingredients … and it tastes amazing! 🥕
Thai Sweet Potato and Carrot Soup
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1 cup diced onion
2 cloves grated garlic
2 tablespoons curry paste
1-2 teaspoons sriracha or other hot sauce (the more, the spicier!)
3 peeled and diced sweet potatoes
2 cups peeled and diced carrots
3 cups low-salt vegetable or chicken broth
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup light coconut milk
½ cup pepitas (pumpkin seeds)
Optional: Lime wedge and goat cheese
1. Heat the oil in a large soup pot over medium-high heat.
2. Add the onion and saute for 3 to 4 minutes before adding the garlic, ginger, curry paste, and hot sauce. Saute for another couple minutes.
3. Add the sweet potatoes and carrots, seasoning well with salt and pepper.
4. Mix together well so the vegetables are well-coated and then pour in the broth.
5. Bring the mixture to a boil, before reducing to low.
6. Simmer for 25 minutes or until the veggies are tender.
7. Remove from the heat, and carefully use an immersion/stick blender to puree the soup. You also can use a high-speed blender to puree the soup in batches, being careful to avoid backsplash.
8. Return to the pot and stir in the coconut milk, and add salt and pepper to taste.
9. Serve the soup topped with an optional lime wedge and a sprinkling of pumpkin seeds.
10. This also tastes great with a little goat cheese stirred in.
